Just have faith...and leave the rest to God

I was reminded that you should have strong faith in all that you undertake, and the things that you can't really get a grasp on, you should leave up to God. It is a amazing experience to see things come to fruition. I got to meet Wynton and ride in his limo to the concert, I was able to chill and talk to everyone in the Lincoln Center trumpet section. I hung out backstage and breifly talk with Ryan Kisor and Marcus Printup. Can you believe that all this happened? What is actually more unbelievable is the fact that these people are really, really nice. Eventhough this is ...jazz ( Not as commercial successful $$ as Rock or Pop) ....there are some musicians that have their ass on their shoulders for you to kiss, but these giants in the big band scene did not. They were all very low-key and humble. It was awe inspiring to see that. I really appreciated the fact that these people were so cordial and that they seemed... to atleast be interested in what I had to say or answer the questions that I had for them.

"Today....I go to jail ....and there is not turning back"....ooppps, my bad I have been watching the commercials for Lil Kim's show Project Lockdown on BET too much. On the serious tip though, I will be able to chill with Printup, Kisor, Gardner, etc...who knows, but it is a possibility. Amazing what happens when you just have faith...and leave the rest to God. I say that one day I would be able to sit and talk to these very people. I always dreamed it and wanted ti tfor myself. Now a days....I think more along the lines that I will play with these people on a album to be discussed at a later date....??? LOL.

God is amazing, when you count him out ...funny thing....HE never....counts you out. I am not saying that I am on my way to fast fame nor riches, but I do believe that having faith and doing the works that should support that faith, is very important in making things happen in your life. Life is wonderful and I don't believe that I would change a thing, even in the dark times when I thought all was lost. I would never go back and change a thing, because I would not be the man I am today. I like who I am and want to continue in this vein of discovery God has led me on. I believe that I'm about to strike Gold...Gold ...I tell you. LOL.

So, with all that said. Keep our eyes open for pictures of me taking a lesson or hanging out with the LCJO. Peace and definitely ...GOD Bless!

LCJO...I got to sit backstage ......

I must admit membership has it's privileges. I am not a member, but Vince gardner is one. I can't believe that last night, I actually.... got to sit backstage with Vince Gardner, Ryan Kisor, Marcus Printup, Wynton, Walter Blanding, Victor Going, Herlin Riley, and the list goes on and on. I believe these next set of pictures that I will put on my blog will can it forever....LOL....Well for awhile atleast.

It was great chilling and talking with my idols,... people like Marcus Printup and Ryan Kisor. It was also my pleasure to meet the man subbing for the man himself, Mr. Marsalis. Mr. James Zollar is from Kansas City and a ridiculously good trumpet player, soloist, and musician. I got to speak with him for a couple of minutes last night and I said, " I look down the trumpet section, and saw you, and was like who is this guy playing like that?" He laughed and said thanks. overall everyone was a delight to meet and the Ghanian Drummers were super cool too. I felt at home listening to the african patterns and listening to their singing. the writing of Mr. Marsalis is getting to that next level. It has always been great, but he has alleavated, and become a great composer.

I think, all and all it was a great experience for everyone, and if not for everyone, atleast one. That one would be me. Talk to you all soon!

This is Serious....a dual release...Roy Hargrove, I don't think that people are ready for this. This one recording...may very well....create unbalance in the universe. I just had to tell the world that Keyshia Cole and I are in love....LOL. I just like her for some reason and I think she is very pretty. Look at her...... (she... is... so hot)......can you blame me ?

I recently purchased the King CD by T.I. I was absolutley floored by how much I actually enjoyed listening to this CD. It had great production value and the lyricism of the artist was high level. I enjoyed it alot, and that is amazing ...in this time and era of fast food type music going on. Even though hip-hop was founded on sampling good music from other genres....today it has become stagnant. King is not a revolutionary recording, but it is a great CD of good music. I would let this one ride if i had it in the stereo. Those of you who know me well, can appreciate that comment. King is certifiably good and I think the XXL magazine was correct in giving this CD such a high rating.
