DR. PHILLIPS CENTER ANNOUNCES NEW $1 MILLION GIFT

Gift marks $3 million in additional philanthropic support since late January; additional gifts underway

ORLANDO, Fla. - February 22, 2011 - The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announces a new $1 million gift from Orlando residents Charles "Chuck" and Lynn Steinmetz.

This gift marks a total of $2 million in support of the project from the couple, who pledged $1 million in 2007.

According to Chuck Steinmetz, "Now is the time to build the Dr. Phillips Center. Our newest gift speaks to the commitment we and many others in this community have to the mission of this project, our faith in the project's leadership and our support of the vision to deliver this."

"This project is distinguished by overwhelming community support," said Dr. Phillips Center Board Chairman, Jim Pugh. "We are truly grateful to Chuck and Lynn for this incredible show of generosity."

"The momentum of these gifts is evidence of the continued widespread community support which began in 2007," said Dr. Phillips Center President Kathy Ramsberger. "We raised $80 million before we even completed the building's design. That's a substantial show of support we couldn't be more grateful for and proud of. We truly thank the Steinmetz family."

Ramsberger said more gifts are underway. "We are finalizing additional gifts which will be announced soon," she said. "We appreciate the continued support of the philanthropic community."

Chuck, a retired businessman, and his wife Lynn, are longtime supporters of the local arts community.
Chuck recently joined the Dr. Phillips Center board of directors.

The Steinmetz's gift marks an additional $3 million in philanthropic support for the project since late January.
