The BLU-TET is opening for the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band on Tuesday June 1, 2010 @ The Plaza Theatre. The Plaza Theatre has been responsible for bringing culture and great music into the Orlando since 1963, and this month they are bringing in the very famous Preservation Hall Jazz Band to Orlando. The PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND derives its name from Preservation Hall, the venerable music venue located in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter, founded in 1961 by Allan and Sandra Jaffe. The band has traveled worldwide spreading their mission to nurture and perpetuate the art form of New Orleans Jazz. Whether performing at Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center, for British Royalty or the King of Thailand, this music embodies a joyful, timeless spirit. Under the auspices of current director, Ben Jaffe, the son of founders Allan and Sandra, Preservation Hall continues with a deep reverence and consciousness of its greatest attributes in the modern day as a venue, band, and record label. 	The Mixed Bag "It's all about Music"  This Friday's Mix will be an eclectic mix of Jazz/Funk by Jarritt Sheel and BLU-TET, African Drumming extraordinaries Tam Tam Congo featuring Thobos Lumbamba. Also, Dealing Faro Will Deliver the Acoustic indie rock via guitars,vocals and banjo. Matt McCarthy Expresses himself by covering obscure songs from everyone from Felix Mendelssohn to Kenny Rogers. Again I have waited a long ass time to update my blog. I'm not lazy ... just busy!!! I just wanted to reach out to you all find out if you enjoyed your Christmas Holidays. There has been a lot of positive things happening in my life, and thereby adding to the all ready cluttered schedule of Jarritt Sheel. This is my second semester teaching at Valencia Community College, and this semester I started teaching Music Appreciation & Music Theory, and I'm very excited about helping more artist/people learn about music. I will also begin performing, in 2010, with the world famous reggae roots artist "Burning Spear." I'm very interested in where I will travel, who I will meet, and what new experiences I will have through performing with this great musician. Again... I am ecstatic about performing around Orlando, FL with my groups..."The Bionic Soul," "BLU-TRIO," and the "BLU-TET." I know and pray that things are things are well with all of you.
