There is a time each year when I start marveling at... all the things that have happened in my life. I'm excited and frustrated all at the same time. Have you ever wanted for more than your hands could hold or your eyes could look upon? Or... have you ever been pissed that you weren't where...(professionally) you thought you'd be.
Now... don't get me wrong, but I'm excited to be doing the various things (events, performing, teaching, traveling, touring, producing, promoting, etc), but... I know that there is more in the universe for me. I guess that's what bothers me the most. I, like almost everyone else,... am searching for the most efficient way to achieve success, without selling myself short. June 2010 is all about evaluating: "The Process."
We all are in the midst of a process... either: The Beginning, The Middle, or The End of our process. Now... I have no right to sit here and tell you where you are in this process we call "success or failure," but there is one thing that I can tell you to do that will make it better... SMILE. Smiling and enjoying life to the fullest will make the process worthwhile.
Succeeding, is definitely a subjective (opinionated) thing... thereby being something hard to generally pinpoint, but I have nailed it down to "being able to do the things you love, whenever you like... while maintaining a comfortable level of existence."
So... I'm working toward to getting closer to that... this very existential concept. I'm happy though... I'm a modern day cowboy. I truly believe that you have to train your mind to be happy with the journey, and not just the destination. I'm working on a couple of projects... recording, performing, producing, teaching, and traveling. I hope that I run into you along the way. God Bless!!!
